Title: Rhubarb
Post by Slug on Apr 9th, 2004, 12:35am

(Sorry, couldn't think of anything interesting for a subject title)

Looks like I'm a 'tradiy', one third trade and two thirds DIY. Neither one nor the other ! A hermaphrodite on a plumbing message board ! Yikes.  ;) First year of my NVQ2 plumbing but not employed yet.

So, seeings as the other two postees on this part of the message board are actual pukka plumbers, at the moment as I am the only 'part DIY'er' on here, I would like to offer myself a great big hello and welcome to my own forum ! I am looking forward to disagreeing vehemently with myself on various topics but also hope that I will be able to offer myself advice and support on my plumbing learnings.

Slug Greetings,

You need to get some kind of employment, when you get to your NVQ3, which you need to do, you have to have site experience to pass, you can also get your gas ACS in this NVQ, I think, so you will need some experience with a Corgi engineer

Don't forget [glb]YOU ARE NOT ALONE[/glb]

Think i'll need employment to gain NVQ2 !! Its all a bit confusing at the moment as the main 'exam' on NVQ2 is apparantly to install a working 'hot'/cold/drainage bathroom suite. NVQ is only available with on site work as you say, but rumour is that the college are arranging to use a spare room in another block away from the main plumbing workshop where we can be judged by C&G if necessary. That said, at the end of the day, there aint nothing like the real thing !
Right im off to bed, I need me beauty sleep ...... about 20 years should start to see an improvement.

Howdy Plumber
Terrific offer, I'm Basildon, Essex based, and the reason I have gone into plumbing is because I consider it my social duty in life are to earn enough to buy a 4x4 to  double park in disabled bays, wear a ridiculously heavy gold bull chain and buy shares in Burberry. Fortunately I'm not that close to Canvey Island, so i am not inbred (though I'm a bit concerned at having 11 fingers on each hand). Does this CV sound like the type of person who could be a flunky/chimp/dogsbody to a working plumber ?

Alas at 42, I'm too old to be a chav and am able to read and write which would disqualify me anyway. Whereabouts in the garden of England are you Plumber ?

Slug,
You're name reminds me of a friend from the CB days. When a lady called "on the side" he would tell her his handle was 'slug skinner' then go into great detail about his hobby of skinning slugs, tanning the hides then making the skins into gloves & shoes.
Naturally, he had no waste as he ate the insides in slug sandwiches.
We often discussed the different merits between the black & the yellow slugs & also our favourite slug recipes.  ;)

I like what you have done at the bottom of your message, how do you do that?

I highlighted it then used various format butons. I used Bold, Move & Glow.
The glow always comes as red but you can type in the colour you want.
How about Salmon or turquoise?
I was on a forum that only had 7 colours but by trial & error we were able to use over 20. Its the same with the size & font. It always comes up as size=2 & font =Verdana but you can type in times new roman, courier etc. & a larger or smaller number for the size.
