Title: Hotpoint integrated fridge
Post by John@KC on Nov 13th, 2004, 4:07pm

(Posted on building forum also)

Just taken delivery of Hotpoint HT232i , the installation instructions are scant to say the least, paticularly the method of connecting the fridge door to the housing door using the slider brackets provided.

I presume that one has to drill the fridge door and connect the small bracket using self tappers?.

I wonder if any of you chaps have experience of this model or anything similar.
Very grateful for any advice.

Thanks

John

You usually find a couple of indents in the side of the fridge door that take the self tappers which in turn take the clip that goes round the long strip that is screwed to the kitchen door.

Make sure you have fixed the unit door before placing the appliance in the carcase as it is difficult to get at the hinges for adjustment after.

Jason
Thanks for your reply.
I have visited my local MFI and all the ones on display there are as you describe, unfortunately the Hotpoint is different and the tiny picture they provide shows the the small clip on the face of the fridge door, but not a clue as to how it should be fixed, it must be self tappers I presume.

Very poor set of instructions provided, methinks I will be on to their customer services in the morning.

Thanks again

J

Problem solved ( I hope).  Got on to Hotpoint today, a small number of the appliances have been sent out without  the bracket holes being drilled in the door, just my luck to get one of them.

They will replace of course !!

Thanks again for the help

I experienced the same problem when I started to assemble my fridge. I was really worried that time because it is new so I immediately returned it for replacement. This thread will help other members with the same problem.

The bracket on our door is fixed with self tappers. Pain in the bum as they work loose.

Once you get it screwed on, a blob of nail varnish on the side of the screw head to stick it in place will stop it undoing.  Fitted one 5 years ago and a kitchen fitter friend told me to do this. It seems to have worked
