Title: Treating green oak Post by CWatters on Oct 6th, 2005, 9:46pm Is there a way to preserve the colour of oak without having to varnish, strip and re-varnish every few years? If left naked it goes a nice silver colour which is ok but I prefer it as cut. I was wondering if there was an oil/wax like product that doesn't have to be stripped off each time - you just apply more. The problem with transparent paints/stains is that unless you get all of the original coat off you get darker patches showing through the new coat. Any ideas? |
