Title: Worktop Width
Post by Lectrician on Oct 11th, 2011, 5:08pm

Are worktops exactly 600mm?

I am looking at fitting a counter top with a double base unit and sink with washing machine and tumble drier adjacent under the counter.

The tumble drier needs venting, and the ven has to run behind the tumble drier.  Even using flat ducting will push the drier out by about 40-45mm I reckon.  Is 600mm worktop oversized to account for scribing, or is there a slightly deeper one available without jumping upto 900mm double edged?

They are typically 600mm but you can get some ranges wider.

Magnets have a double bullnose range for peninsula units that is laminated on both long edges which works out at 665mm wide.

And if you join them, make sure that they're right way round  DAMHIKT

Oak worktop we've just had put in was 700mm when it was delivered.  Adding an upstand pushes is out another 10 or 15mm

All depends on the brand, 600,615,625,650 are standard sizes these days, you just need to find the supplier of the size you need,

Howdens are 615, and 620's ...

It would more than likely be Howdens, I prefer the carcases to others!

Howden's worktop link.....

and if you fitted an upstand, as stated previously, then you can get another 15-30mm depending on material type
