Title: Lock caster wheels on garden box Post by milly on Jun 18th, 2015, 1:16pm I have a garden box mounted on 4 caster wheels. Two of the wheels have a locking mechanism and two do not. The wheels work great, the problem is that the neighbors are moving the box around (I have no idea why, no one has said anything to me) so I need a way to lock the wheels with a key so that the box cannot be moved. I don't see that there is enough space to slip in a padlock anywhere on the wheels. Any ideas? |

Title: Re: Lock caster wheels on garden box Post by CWatters on Jun 21st, 2015, 11:30am In my youth a box with wheels was called a go-cart. Perhaps kids are riding on it? You can buy ground anchors and similar devices designed to provide a secure point that you can chain something to. Try online or a motor bike shop. Most are designed to be either concreted into the ground or fixed to a concrete base or bolted to a wall. http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_cat/126 You can also get less secure ground anchors that are designed to screw into soil. Those could be dug out but might be sufficiently secure for your purpose. http://www.ropesdirect.co.uk/ground-anchor-screw/prod_244.html?gclid=CIT_upTIoMYCFVTMtAodBtIDaA The links are just for examples not recommendations as I've not used them. |
