Title: New Gas Supply Post by Gammy_leg on Sep 4th, 2016, 1:05pm Hi, Have been house hunting and found a property that ticks nearly all the boxes with the exception that it currently has no gas connection to the mains ( electric storage heaters & cooker plus solid fuel rayburn for the hot water ) The adjacent houses in the street are connected to the gas main so I know that there is a supply available. Any idea what it would cost to get the Gas board to connect me up? Thanks Gammy |

Title: Re: New Gas Supply Post by Gammy_leg on Sep 4th, 2016, 8:36pm Thanks Lectrician, I did a bit of digging ( not literally ) and found some guideline prices from SGN, who are responsible for South & South East, for connection up to the house, excl the meter for approx £600 excl. VAT Cost based on the mains being no more than 40m from the house and no unforeseen hold-ups or obstructions. |

Title: Re: New Gas Supply Post by Gammy_leg on Sep 16th, 2016, 9:28pm Update. 2 quotes received. 1GAS are looking for £1150 incl. the meter. SGN have quoted £700.60 but I'd need to sort the meter out elsewhere. EDF have priced me £80 for that. I think SGN & EDF have got the job. |
