Title: Bathroom Vent Axia Fan also Vent Axia Humidstat
Post by Advent on Nov 23rd, 2016, 11:36pm

Outside bathroom fused 240v power supply into bathroom to a Vent Axia HP2 humidstat 240v in output to wall fan 145volts AC. Wall fan 4inch Vent Axia Model VA100X power in from Humidstat 145Volts Neon light glows Vanes open when the bathroom is damp but the fan does not rotate. The two attached images shows the voltage and watts. My question is what or where is the fault. The fan takes 240v I applied 240v direct to the chocolate block fan does not rotate so fan could be dead. However the Humidstat has 240volt input yet output is 145volts I see this Humid stat as a varible voltage controller to the fan could this unit be faulty also? Cure would it be better to replace both of these units with an all in one fan with humid stat. Must I stay with Vent Axia or can Xpelair do the same job? Thank you.

Did you measure the output voltage with the fan disconnected.  A faulty fan may be pulling the voltage down?

Thank you for responding.
Yes the fan was off the wall and fully disconnected when I measured that 145volt at the terminals.
I applied 240v direct to the chocolate box with no rotation of the fan.
That tells me fan is us.
The Humidstat is the problem with 240 volts going in why is the output 145 volts measured at the Brown and Blue terminals.
Is this stat a variable voltage output device the more moisture in the room the faster the fan rotates and as the bathroom becomes dry the fan gradually slows down to a stop? It could be both Humidstat and Fan need replacing. Will a all in one device Fan and stat from Xpelair do the job. Removing the present Humid stat permanently.
Keith.

It is a variable speed humidistat.
