Title: Drips with brown stains from manifold Post by Overrunning Project on Mar 22nd, 2017, 9:26pm Hi We are 11 months into a 6 month project. The Under Floor Heating has been in about 5 weeks. Recently the builder has turned the heating up to dry plaster board and the house. I went round tonight and there is a constant drip that leaves a brown stain from two of the manifold connectors. Should I be worried? Thanks [gallery]ijolly4/1490217802.jpg[/gallery] [gallery]ijolly4/1490217811.jpg[/gallery] [gallery]ijolly4/1490217819.jpg[/gallery] |
Title: Re: Drips with brown stains from manifold Post by Headrush on Mar 23rd, 2017, 9:45am The two nuts beneath the dripping connector need to be tweaked up, perhaps just a quarter turn. If that doesn't work, they will have to be disconnected and inspected. It's possible there are no sleeve inserts inside the plastic pipes, a common mistake.. |
Title: Re: Drips with brown stains from manifold Post by CWatters on Apr 5th, 2017, 3:40pm Once it's sorted make sure you put some corrosion inhibitor such as Fernox F1 in the system. The amount required depends on the volume of the system and you may need more than one bottle. Usually too putting in slightly too much is safer than not enough. |
