Title: Floor tile onto a steel Post by Overrunning Project on Apr 10th, 2017, 11:39pm [gallery]ijolly4/1491863760.jpg[/gallery] Hi We have a former that has been tiled. The former meets a steel beam. We just want to tile over the steel beam and then install vinyl flooring for the rest of the room. Is it possible to tile floor tiles onto a steel? If so how should this be done and what sort of adhesive should be used? Thanks Also - from a different thread - Should we apply silicone to the former? |
Title: Re: Floor tile onto a steel Post by woodsmith on Apr 11th, 2017, 7:12pm I think you would be asking for trouble tiling on the steel, there are mesh underlays to help prevent cracking but it may not be enough; you would be better off with a specialist to advise. There are a few specific tiling forums it may be worth asking on one of them |
