Title: BT Versatility Help
Post by Tina Fisher on Jan 9th, 2018, 11:40am

We have a BT Versatility System, we have one spare extension.  I connected this in the hub to a network port but cannot get a dial tone.

I have performed a warm reset of the system and not sure where to go from here

Can anyone help ?

To a network port?

Are you using a normal phone, or a V8 feature phone?

A normal phone needs a MASTER socket, connect from the extension terminals in the PBX to 2 and 5 on the MASTER socket.  If this doesn't work, check your terminations.  Are you using a decent punch down tool?  Decent cable?  Are the terminals you are punching into in good condition?

For a V8 feature phone, it can be a secondary or master socket (master preferred to allow standard phone to be used in place of V8).  Extension to 2/5, DATA to 1/6.  If nothing, again, check as above.
