Any gas safe plumbers out there? Can you help me with some advice, thanks.
Okay, my Worcester combi boiler needs moving. Someone suggested fixing it to the side of the chimney wall with the flue going into the chimney, so the escaping gas would go up the chimney. I have a wood burner that I use. My worry is the gas could be blown back into our house when the burner is not being used. It gets very windy where I live.
Also the outlet for the waste water from the boiler - he suggested channelling that into the soil pipe that comes down from my upstairs bathroom and also feeds off my downstairs washing machine, kitchen sink etc.
I would have thought that the boiler must be fitted to an external wall or at least the flue on an external wall. Shouldn't the waste from the boiler go out by a separate pipe. I'm not a plumber by any means, but this sounds dodgy to me. :-/
Any suggestions? Is this person talking out of his bottom?

It's more than likely got a balanced flue - a pipe within a pipe that sucks fresh air in as well as vent the exhaust. I don't think you'd be able to vent it into a chimney

The log burner should have a flue liner which runs up inside the chimney and you would not be able to cut into it so I think you have been given bad advice on that aspect of the job.

Ok the obvious first, you need a gassafe engineer to move and install the boiler to the regs.

The solid fuel burner should have a special liner depending on the existing stack, age and makeup.

You can buy boilers that will allow you to run the flue into the chimney with a separate inlet tube to provide the air intake but if the stack is already in use then not an option.

Boiler waste I assume you mean the condensate pipe, which can run into and plastic drain/soil pipe, However, the pipe from the safety valve/expansion vessel needs to be terminated where the public is not at risk
