I had a guy ask me about this so called Academy which charges nearly £6000 for a 4 week intensive plumbing course & then sends them on their way with some dodgy certificates. The place is based in Exeter. The (pupils) are trained to Hep20, WIAPS & NPA standards.I have only been in the game for 20 years & have yet to come across these standards? Could anyone shed any light?Four weeks to become a plumber......Bloody marvellous!!!!!!!!!!

I understand you can do evening classes at a local college to become an expert plumber. One of my BRE compatriots went on the course. Only a few weeks of one evening a week - so probably about 24 hours tops and he knew how to be a plumber.
Mind you, with all this pushfit stuff aunt mabel could probably get by.....

I have a link to their web site somewhere, and will dig it out.
Makes interesting reading.
