Contrary to popular belief, plastic insulated and
sheathed cables are not suitable for continuous
immersion in water, such as in pools and fountains, as
they will absorb an amount of water over time and
insulation failure will occur. Manufacturers’ advice
should be taken for applications involving continued
immersion of cables.  Wink

WABBITS should not play with water Grin

What about pvc armoured Chubbs??

A bloke we work for has decided to run an armoured telephone cable, and an armoured 4core 1.5mm for an alarm ID loop to a remote building.  He is running the cables up a river, and down a storm drain, then trenched across into a used SEWERAGE pipe!!!

I aint running cables in water! Point missed - reiterate;

SWA house to garden with RCD at source and MK Masterseal socket in garden.

Masterseal used to plug in swimming pool pump (manually). I know that any switchgear CANNOT be closer than 2 metres from pool.

BUT there is an old beer barell small one with goldfish in and THIS will be or could be within 2 metres.

Oh sod it - I will fit the Masterseal, drag the barrel to one side so its 2 metres away and what the owner does after I have left is his business....

yea Ray, at end of day its correct when you do it, you cannot predict what owners will do, only make it difficult or impossible to do somthing that could create a very dangerous occourance, I presume the socket is rasied from ground level  Smiley
