Price for a brick shed extension ?
Nov 30th, 2004, 9:10pm

Hi there - currently have a single-skin,single storey brick shed (ex-council,roof made of 6" of concrete..) approx.3m x 2m externally.
Looking to extend on the end approx.2.5m x 2.5m,to have enough space to work in there, not just store things.
So could anyone advise of :-
a) quantity of materials
b) approximate price of materials

Just after ball-park figures - will probably do the work myself, but get an electrician in to replace existing power supply with something bigger to power bench grinder/wood lathe/bench saw etc.

All help appreciated,

Andrew

There are ten 4" blocks to a square metre and I think 54 - 56 bricks. 6" concrete base to a float finish would do the job with a damp proof membrane. A concrete double roman sized tile at a minimum 17.5 degree pitch cover a sq mtr at around ten tiles. Couldnt give you any prices but a call to the merchants if you work out your quantities would answer that

just so you're not short, there are 60 bricks to a sq m (6 to a block)  Smiley

Thanks Jerry - as it happens, need about 1,000 bricks, was looking at pallets of 452,so 3 pallets allows plenty for waste/piers/gable ends.

But I might wait until the weathers a bit warmer Roll Eyes
