What sort of money do you expect the Rojek to go for?  The prices of used moulders seem to vary hugely.

talking off sawdust what does everyone else do with there sawdust
i used to get rid off it to people with chickens and pets
but most want to go for sterile sawdust now
next they will be serving gourmay carrots  Undecided

Burn it... dear chap, there are several multi fuel house/workshop burners that can now take sawdust,( and still burn clean)  via a shute, and you just top it off at night, and it slowly burns down...., heats the hot water too!!! quids in, reckon it will pay for it self within the year!!!

I wish I could burn my sawdust in a  workshop heater but I can't have the fire risk in a timber workshop. I've got bags of it pilled up, all oak chip too, enough to heat the place for a month or smoke a ship load of herring!

The local mechanic has some to put on the floor of his pit, Judith  composts the softwood and I dump the rest in a friend's wood Sad

What we need is a briquette maker that doesn't cost £8000

It hasn't been a problem since word got around that I had the stuff going free. The combination of garage and butchers sees most of it vanish, plus the chickens. If there is ever a build up I chuck it on the bonfire along with all the other flammable scrap, but not everybody's got somewhere to have a bonfire.

Although it's just come to me that there is one place where we could all dump our sawdust - on the drive of a certain electrician living not a million miles from Worcester. Apparently, he loves the stuff. Grin Grin

Greg - whatever it fetches mate. It owes me nothing. I was gobsmacked to see that it had 20 watchers on it, but we'll see.

Z - don't be in too much of a hurry to draw your curtains tomorrow morning! Grin

And that doesn't require 3-phase.

Is Cambs the only part of the country that has a waste disposal contractor who will take sawdust and offcuts and add them to his composting process?

Our waste disposal will take it to compost, but I've paid for this and I'd like to get some benefit from it. I have burnt some in the log burner and it smoulders away for hours keeping the stove hot. Trouble is it can be dusty to fill it, dusty in the room, and if I don't get the air mix perfect, there is the risk of an explosion. I've had one a couple of times and it blows the ( cast iron) top off the fire. Shocked

Ran about 30m of 15 x 20 through the Fox this afternoon, putting the edge bead on some staff beads with the router adaptor. Perfect. So easy to set up and all cuts smooth and accurate. Well chuffed with it.
