HELP PLEASE.........MDF Painting (Read 4200 times)

vcee GDPR opt-out	HELP PLEASE.........MDF Painting Jun 13^th, 2013, 1:30pm Hi, I have just had some pipes boxed in, and decided to paint it, being a novice, thought it would be easy, bought a tin of high gloss paint it said no need to prime or undercoat, I have put first coat on, and it has just absorbed it into the board, please any advice would be welcome Thanks

vcee GDPR opt-out Total Thanks: 135 For This Post: 1	Re: HELP PLEASE.........MDF Painting Reply #2 - Jun 14^th, 2013, 2:51pm Hi Woodsmith, Thank you for your reply, it is Wilkinsons own brand one coat high gloss, it stated that no need for primer or undercoat, I have now coated the MDF with 2 coats of PVA Adhesive sealer, and 1 coat of the gloss, it is not perfect but I hope a second coat will do the trick.

I hope this works out for you otherwise you will need to strip it all off and start agin or use a sealant finish like Zinzer BIN.
