BT Versatility, calls disconect

I have a customer who's callers hear the ringtone for 2 rings then get disconnected and a hissing sound.
does this on both std tel lines line.
Any ideas, the business can dial out ok ?

Are they both PSTN lines (not ISDN?).  I would suspect a dodgy line card - thats the black module under the cover.  Fairly tricky to get hold of these days at a good price.

If there is 4 lines, you could swap the modules over to see if this fixed it.
