Unika and Trend are ok, the other cheaper brands tend to flex to much, leave them alone, as one twist, and you've ruined the jig and the worktop.... even if its for a one off fit, not worth the risk....

also the pegs in the cheaper jigs are a loose fit, causing errors ...

hope this helps..

yep make your own
just make sure the material is thick enough to cover the lip on the guide bush and to stop flex as the cutter pulls sideways
or do 2 runs 1/2 depth

I haven't used them but I think the cheaper ones are less robust so, unless you plan to use them a lot the cheaper ones should be fine. I've made my own out of MDF, I don't think they are as good but they were cheap.

Belfast sink and drainer jigs
Nov 4th, 2013, 9:45pm

Hi, Im looking to buy a worktop drainer jig and a belfast sink jig but i cant decide if its worth paying out  for the trend or unika brands or buy the non branded ones of ebay for about half the price . Are the cheaper ones less accurate and more difficult to use?

                              Thanks Snooks85
