British Gas Boiler 532/i (Worcester)
Nov 13th, 2014, 9:59am

Hi,  I have a problem with my 3 year old British Gas Boiler 532/i  (Worcester).
I keep getting an "ERR" code on the LCD display. (no other codes)

The pressure gauge is just above 2.5 Bar, if I reduce the pressure to 1.5 (as it used to be) the boiler cuts out until I add more pressure.
I have reduced the Temp to about 60 c    , any higher and the pressure goes up to about 2.5 again.

anyone got any thoughts before I call British Gas ?

Added to post:-  I  have wondered if the pressure gauge on the boiler is reading the correct pressure as it used to loose pressure slightly over a couple of months, but now it seems to gain pressure!

I'm not a plumber but..

If the pressure goes up a lot as the system heats up that usually means there is a fault with the expansion vessel. Could need recharging or replacing.

The expansion vessel usually has a car tyre type valve on them. If water comes out when that's depressed (briefly) then it's faulty.

I'm not sure what ERR means.

Thanks CW meant to reply to this thread and forgot after all that birthday wine.  Cool

The err dosen't mean a lot on its own is there more to the code.

Can you post the GC number on the data plate as there's several variations
