Hi, I live in an old property with no earth wire in front room wall sockets.
Can i use a rcd plug with my electrical appliances for extra protection or will rcd plug not work with no earth in socket? Thanks

There was never a time when sockets were installed with no earth, it was lights that were.
Are you sure they're not wired in steel conduit, the earth earthing the sockets through the screws?
