Lock caster wheels on garden box
Jun 18th, 2015, 1:16pm

I have a garden box mounted on 4 caster wheels. Two of the wheels have a locking mechanism and two do not. The wheels work great, the problem is that the neighbors are moving the box around (I have no idea why, no one has said anything to me) so I need a way to lock the wheels with a key so that the box cannot be moved. I don't see that there is enough space to slip in a padlock anywhere on the wheels. Any ideas?

I'd ask them what they're playing at and to leave it alone.

heeelllooo and welcome milly Grin Grin Grin

do they have kids ??
do other people have easy access to the box

my thoughts are kids are curious and just moving because they can not realising its a problem

why not just say the box keeps moving and you dont know why perhaps its the  wind and see what they say

In my youth a box with wheels was called a go-cart. Perhaps kids are riding on it?

You can buy ground anchors and similar devices designed to provide a secure point that you can chain something to. Try online or a motor bike shop. Most are designed to be either concreted into the ground or fixed to a concrete base or bolted to a wall.

You can also get less secure ground anchors that are designed to screw into soil. Those could be dug out but might be sufficiently secure for your purpose.

The links are just for examples not recommendations as I've not used them.
