sink tap issue with broken head gear/insert/gland
Sep 15th, 2015, 2:26pm

Tap just kept turning round and round and wouldn't turn off. Took the head gear out which was at fault. Thought I would buy new head gear to sort the issue. I have been to six plumbers merchants, but none stock three quarter inch long stemmed tap headgear. There are plenty of half inch. So, am considering a tap reviver kit but not sure if this will work or if I can get the right size. It seems that nearly all modern bathrroom sink headgear is half inch and bath headgear is three quarter inch. Anyone got any ideas of the best solution. I really want to avoid having to replace the taps because they are really tricky to get to the removal nuts behind the sink and the nuts are pretty much stuck.
