Time clock linked to MSF/"Rugby"
Nov 29th, 2015, 8:09pm

Are there any low cost programmable time clocks that sync to the "Rugby" radio clock?

It seems very hard to find the right terms to google. Late last night I found some DIN rail mounted  timers/relays that did this but as I remember they were like £200 and I forgot to bookmark anyway.

By contrast I found a plug in timer on a german site (for their equivalent radio) that was nearer 30 euro.

had to do a bit of googling to find out what this was all about,  not sure if its of any use but once used a sangamo (spelling) sunseeker or something that wanted to know its latitude and longitude would that have been doing a similar thing? As mentioned from memory it wasnt cheap.

One of the main reasons I was looking for a radio linked timer was to get automatic daylight saving time. I've discovered you can get this on some non-radio linked timers and have got one of these on order...

Smiley

I assumed it was for a fit and forget type thing.  The automatic summer/winter are quite popular, but of course, will not update if summer/winter shcedules are changed, which they keep talking about.

Can't see them ever actually changing it though.  They've been talking about it for as long as I can remember, certainly since the 80s

The sangamo timer needs to know the latitude and longitude for dawn to dusk timing as its at different times depending where you are.
