Radiator With No Control Valve

Hi, we have a Honeywell DT92E WirelessRoom Thermostat fitted downstairs in 2 storey house.
The large panel radiator in the same room is the only one in the house NOT fitted with a TVC.
We have been told there must one rad in the house left open as a safety valve in case of overheating/boiler malfunction etc.

Yesterday we came down in the morning to find the thermostat reading 25c (set at21c night before ) and the rooms unbearably hot!!
The thermo setting is still low but the rad remains very hot and actual room temp still too high and we can't control it.

We have turned the TVCs in adjacent rooms right down but need to sort this main room thermostat out.

We have a Greenstar condensing boiler on LPG.

Can anyone suggest what might be the problem ?

When they become weak the wireless signal to the receiver at the boiler starts to fail and the heating will not switch on or off at the times or temps it's supposed to..

Hi and Welcome to ATT.

The radiator with no TRV is normal in the same room as the stat otherwise it can effect it's operation (conflict). In the old days you used a radiator (normally the bathroom) as a heat sink for the gravity circuits.

What's gone wrong ? probably not a lot, I would start by checking the batteries and re-syncing the stat with the receiver.

Do you have any motorized valves ? and what is the approximate age of the boiler etc.
