Wall mounting tv on insulated plasterboard wall
Jul 10th, 2016, 4:02pm

Hi I am wanting to wall mount a tv and not sure what fixings to use , the insulated plasterboard is about 2 inches thick and it is about 3 inches before I am hitting anything solid . What fixings would be best to use ? The tv will weigh about 8kg . Any help would be appreciated . Many thanks .

I use hollow wall anchors for all my permanent fixings to plasterboard; although it is just about possible to fit them without, I would definitely invest in getting a setting tool to fit them. You can get them, and the setting tool from Screwfix, but I would recommend getting a brand, like Rawlplug, I think they call them intersets, rather than Screwfix's own make as they can be of variable quality.
