Approx Cost for 1 double glaze window, Scotland
Oct 18th, 2016, 7:35pm

I want to replace a wooden double glaze window for a PVC one, getting to old to climb up a ladder to paint and this is the only wooden one on the 1st floor.
Size 46 x 70 inches
To include window frame.
To be fitted so not DIY

I have one quote at approx £500
Would this be considered a fair price as I have no idea at this stage.
Quote is not from a national company but local tradesman.

That seems reasonable for one window, the more they do the cheaper they get per window. You don't want anyone too cheap either as there are some rubbish PVC windows out there which last just a few years before the hinges drop and locking mechanism packs up.
