Levelling floor

Hi
Our builder has completed a two storey extension. The wooden floor on the 1st floor bedroom dropped by about 1.5cm. The builder said that he would level the floor with ply wood but instead he used a levelling floor solution. We are just about to carpet and I am concerned that it may crack in the future.
Has anyone used this before?
Thanks

I have never use compound over floorboards myself, I agree it does seem sort of counterintuitive, but most self levelling compounds are designed to go over ply and floorboards so you should have no problems with it.
