HI All
We are looking at purchasing a new home. The house was currently owned by an old couple who have now passed away.
They had a wet room fitted up stairs.
As we have a 3 year old daughter and plan on having another sprog, we need to fit a bath ideally.
Attached below are pictures of the wetroom.
I am not a builder by trade, i am an aerospace design engineer. My thought was as follows so please tell me if it cannot be done or there is something better to do.
The room has two pipes that come down to a thermostat controlled shower mixer. I assume one pipe is hot and one is cold. We would like to either extend these to bring a Tap/shower mixer combo closer to where the bath would sit or just replace the shower with a tap shower combo. The bath would be fitted underneath.
We have seen a bath we like, double ended approx 1750mm long X 750mm Wide with drain hole in the middle.
This means the drain hole is approx 375mm from the rear edge and 875mm from the right edge.
The waste/drain hole is currently in the floor and is approx 800mm from the right wall and 500mm from the rear wall.
If we were to fit the bath over the top this would mean the bath drain hole and floor waste hole would be off center by approx 125mm in one direction and 75mm in the other.
Is it possible to fit a flexi with an adapter to the floor drain hole or do we need to rip up the floor.
what would be the aprox cost for this kind of work.
