Good price??
Mar 14th, 2018, 5:57am

I had new valves fitted to 10 radiator and some fernox put into the system
Plumber charged me £500
£180 for himself
&180 for his mate
£160 for valves and fernox

They were there for 4 hours

Is this a reasonable price

No, but probably the going rate, depending on where you are located.

Don't forget additional expenses, Travel etc. cost isn't just the time on site.

In most cases, a good handyman is a far more cost-effective for small works.

If anything I would question the need for 2 Tradesmen.

Google found this which suggests the full day rate in London is around £375+Vat. You got 8 man hours for £360 (inc Vat ?).

https://www.my-plumber.co.uk/prices/plumbing/

Rad valves vary from about £5 to £20 so depends what they fitted.

Fernox F1 is probably around £12-£15.

Overall it seems ok.
