Title: Plastering on soot. Post by TwoSheds on Feb 10th, 2005, 6:04pm I have removed a chimney breast in my 1895 built house and am preparing the walls before I call a plasterer in. The fire has left soot deposits on the bricks. I have scraped off as much as I can but there's still a lot left on the bricks. Should I treat the bricks with anything to stop the soot leaching through the plaster etc? Advice appreciated please. Fred |

Title: Re: Plastering on soot. Post by Robbo on Feb 11th, 2005, 1:20am If it is to be rendered and skimmed no need to do anything it will not come through... the plasterer will do his own prep. |
