easy but no easyer than a BS951

also they dont actuly comply and you have to note a deviation on the form, due to them not being all metalic construction....

i got sent a pack of em and i havent used one

Also, do you think they will be as robust as or last as long as a ‘tenby earth clamp’? :(

Quicker isn’t always better (Im sounding old now) :-[

Used loads of them, especially when bonding up those nice chrome towel rads in bathrooms - they look MUCH better then Tenby clamps (design circa 1845!).

Some corrections - they do comply to BS951. Probably takes just as long to install as a Tenby mind but customers don't mind them on their nice £1,000 towel rads whereas they HATE Tenby's

Can be handy where there's not enough access to put a tenby clamp tight!

Yep, marvellous things!

I've used loads of em - both 15mm and the 22mm sizes.

We've been down the 'does/does not comply' route before.

As far as I am concerned. they comply fully.
There was a very good thread about this on the IEE site not long ago.

When MEM first released them they were not to BS specs (I believe that MEM started selling them then submitted them for certification). They are now BS 951 certified. If not I will send every member of this forum 1p (I am a gernerous sort of chap!)

You made me feel guilty as Iv never used them but slagged them off :-[

How robust are they lads? (I might try them in hard to access places)

As robust as the pipe itself! The only disadvantage is you can't undo them (AFAIAA) if you need to check end to end continuity with no parallel paths. Not sure how you go on to loop a cable thru for bonding to one service & ensuring the cable is unbroken - I guess you have to thread the cable all the way thru the clamp then strip off the ins where necessary.

Yes thats what I was wondering. They seem like the obvious choice for main bonding but when it comes to sup bonding how do you carry it on without as you say without feeding all the cable thru then remove insulation at the point of clamping. I wonder if they will introduce a dual/double clamp ie One in One out.
