Title: Damp in new built extension Post by mrwhy on Apr 12th, 2010, 11:52am Hi there, I had a ground floor single story extension built at the back of my flat, completed October 2008. Unfortunately the walls either side of some bi-folding aluminum doors have show signs of damp, possibly rising up? Now other areas of the extension have shown patches of damp. The builder told me that he laid a DPM and that it could be part of the drying out process. I am not too sure now as other areas are starting to be effected and he is becoming more reluctant to get involved. I contact Rentokil but I was told that they only get involved with old properties, thirty years plus. Can anyone please advise me on what to do? thanks |

Title: Re: Damp in new built extension Post by mrwhy on Apr 12th, 2010, 3:03pm Hi big all No. The outside level is almost flush with the inside, separated by a drain gully, the bi-folding doors ledge and the doors. I've attached some (bad) drawings. |
