Title: copper pipes
Post by Natedog on Dec 9th, 2011, 11:36pm

We've now got lots of nice shiny new copper pipes in the house.  I don't want to paint them (I hate painted pipework) but I don't like them when they go dull.  Short of polishing them every week,  is there somethink I can do to them to keep them shiny?

Auto solvosol, (as it will not attack to solder in any fittings....) use sparingly....

and you could try a heat proof laquer once clean....

Hi, I had the same with the pipes at my last house, did as timba said, used solvol on cotton wool but brassy just as good, just mind the joints, as far as them staying shiny, mine stayed good for the time I stayed there as long as you don't rub them daily after eating junk food....

I varnished mine with clear varnish and they stayed looking good for years
