Title: Help with bi-fold door please
Post by Beagle on May 2nd, 2012, 4:56pm

Hi all,

Sorry if this is a daft question, but....

I need a new bottom pivot for our bathroom door as the threads have worn in the plastic plug, meaning the door drops to the carpet, but I'm unable to find one for sale ANYHERE.

Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement please? Id rather not have to spend £30+ on an entire fixing kit when all I need is the plastic 'plug'.

Cheers!

Hi Big All, thanks for the welcome!

It looks like this:

Basically the white plug goes in the door and the screw is adjusted to set the height of the door.  But on mine the threads are worn so it doesn't hold the door up.
They come with bi-fold door fitting kits, and seem to be widely available in America - but I can't find a shop that sells them here..  :-/

Perhaps you could adapt an insert nut and M6 bolt?

Like these?

Yeah, got an email back saying they don't sell anything like it.

Oh well, looks like I'm going to have to buy a complete fixing kit from somewhere like Screwfix.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
