Title: dodgy wall Post by Natedog on Jul 31st, 2012, 12:27pm going to be painting the stairs and landing in the next week or so. one wall has been papered, then painted (several times) and then got filler on it, bits of paper peeled off then painted over etc i know that the only way to get a good finish on it is gonna be to skim it, but how much of what's there am i going to need to remove first? |
Title: Re: dodgy wall Post by Natedog on Aug 1st, 2012, 9:53pm don't worry. lifted off 7 layers of paper, most of which had been painted too, and found that the plaster under it all was actually quite good. bit of filler where the cables have been sunk into it, and a quick tickle with the sander and it'll look fine :) |
