Title: mystery Post by scotspark on Oct 25th, 2015, 1:27pm Gonna post some pics of something I found in ald hose we were working in. Lifted rug in centre of dining room and found a hatch in floor with a piece of lead inlaid to it. once we lifted it we realised it was 4 individual squares that were cross connected underneath. there were wires and a switch lying cut underneath and one of the wall lights we had removed to rewire had a single cable in addition to the lead twin? anyone got ideas or come across something like this before? Cheers SS |

Title: Re: mystery Post by Lurch on Oct 25th, 2015, 5:39pm Some sort of early capacitive switch affair? Someone got the wrong end of the stick trying to add an earth? |

Title: Re: mystery Post by thescruff on Oct 26th, 2015, 8:37am Looks like the star of David, so could be connected to the occult. All sat round in a circle and someone flips a switch and the lights dim ;D |
Title: Re: mystery Post by Lurch on Oct 26th, 2015, 5:38pm Any idea what these other wires were connected to? I've seen something similar on some TV program, the name of which escapes me, but it did get used for spiritual feelings and somehow killed someone, or something along those lines, or maybe that was 2 programs using the same idea. |
Title: Re: mystery Post by scotspark on Oct 26th, 2015, 8:15pm Wires were cut below floor but I thought something to do with making lights flickering during a seance type thing. A switch under floorboards to turn it on off? Not sure how it would work though? Client has asked if it could be wired back in as a parlour trick? |
