Title: Time clock linked to MSF/"Rugby" Post by CWatters on Nov 29th, 2015, 8:09pm Are there any low cost programmable time clocks that sync to the "Rugby" radio clock? It seems very hard to find the right terms to google. Late last night I found some DIN rail mounted timers/relays that did this but as I remember they were like £200 and I forgot to bookmark anyway. By contrast I found a plug in timer on a german site (for their equivalent radio) that was nearer 30 euro. |

Title: Re: Time clock linked to MSF/"Rugby" Post by wozzy on Nov 30th, 2015, 8:37pm had to do a bit of googling to find out what this was all about, not sure if its of any use but once used a sangamo (spelling) sunseeker or something that wanted to know its latitude and longitude would that have been doing a similar thing? As mentioned from memory it wasnt cheap. |
Title: Re: Time clock linked to MSF/"Rugby" Post by CWatters on Dec 4th, 2015, 11:35pm One of the main reasons I was looking for a radio linked timer was to get automatic daylight saving time. I've discovered you can get this on some non-radio linked timers and have got one of these on order... http://www.timeguard.com/products/time/immersion-and-general-purpose-timeswitches/ntt04-24-hour-7-day-compact-electronic-general-purpose-timeswitch-with-voltage-free-contacts |
Title: Re: Time clock linked to MSF/"Rugby" Post by Lectrician on Dec 5th, 2015, 1:25pm :) I assumed it was for a fit and forget type thing. The automatic summer/winter are quite popular, but of course, will not update if summer/winter shcedules are changed, which they keep talking about. |
Title: Re: Time clock linked to MSF/"Rugby" Post by Natedog on Dec 14th, 2015, 1:29am Can't see them ever actually changing it though. They've been talking about it for as long as I can remember, certainly since the 80s |
Title: Re: Time clock linked to MSF/"Rugby" Post by fife spark on Dec 19th, 2015, 5:56pm The sangamo timer needs to know the latitude and longitude for dawn to dusk timing as its at different times depending where you are. |
