Title: Install Room Thermostat Post by TimBr on Dec 13th, 2016, 12:49pm Current heating set up is Condenser Boiler in Kitchen(not combi); Siemens RWB9 timer for CH and HW also in kitchen(but across room from boiler). I want to fit a room thermostat in the lounge and would rather not fill up with wires, so was hoping to install a wireless one. What option (assuming there is more than one) makes the most sense.? I was hoping I could simply get a wireless receiver to plug in , in place of my RWB9 timer-only switch. This uses what was once a stndard backplate so strikes me as the simplest for a DIY job. That said I can't find one. So do I remove the RWB9 altogether and replace with with a receiver near the boiler and use a programable thermostat in the lounge.? |
Title: Re: Install Room Thermostat Post by TimBr on Dec 13th, 2016, 1:12pm Perhaps in fact I'm wrong. I was thinking the RWB9 had a backplate of the same dimension of the module itself, but having taken it off, I see the backplate is much smaller. So can I expect that any wireless receiver should fit to this. |
Title: Re: Install Room Thermostat Post by thescruff on Dec 15th, 2016, 10:52am The RWB is a programmer with standard wiring but you would need to modify it to suit. More information would help. Make model of boiler. Make model of Motorized valves or type (2 x 2port or 1 x 3 port) 4 in the programmer controls the MV which in turn controls the boiler and pump. I would be surprised if you don't have a room stat. |
