Title: Outside electrical socket Post by king.bob on May 17th, 2017, 11:27pm Hello, I have just purchased an outside RCD protected socket which is ip66 rated. Part of the supplied instructions say that you MUST drill a small drainage hole for condensation to escape from the casing. A little later on it tells me that by drilling the drainage hole, it will lower the ip rating. So I suppose my question is; how do I keep the ip rating at 66, if I have to drill a drainage hole? |
Title: Re: Outside electrical socket Post by Lectrician on May 18th, 2017, 5:29am Is the socket likely to be jet washed? Most electricians will usually only drill the drain hole if you enter the socket with wiring on the rear or top. |
