Hello All,

I will be installing warmboard slabs and then fixing the kitchen units to this wall. The original idea was that the splashback area would be all tiled so I was going to tile straight to the slab but now we don't want tiles but a plaster finish for the splashback, so do you just skim the splashback area after kitchen units installed or should you skim the full wall before installing the kitchen units.

It would be easier for the plasterer and far better generally to skim the wall before fitting the kitchen units which, apart from other considerations, would not like having a lot of wet plaster anywhere near them.

We currently have plaster behind our kitchen sink. Hard to keep clean. Will be tiling it eventually.

I assume you have painted it but to make it a lot more scrubable you could give it a coat of decorators acrylic varnish which you can get in dead flat which is extremely matt and almost invisible.

Yes its got Dulux Endurance on it. I think it just shows the dirt more than a patterned tile would.
