Title: amount of fall from toilet spigot required ?? help
Post by globalmark on Sep 5th, 2018, 2:50pm

Hi All

we have to rip out the bathroom due to a leak - and while insurance paying thought pay bit extra and swap the toilet -
but hard to find exactly same fitting -
current toilet has spigot at 200mm off floor to center then a 90˚ fitting going into grey waste pipe approx 350mm long horizontal with maybe 35mm fall before it heads into the vertical main waste .

Question if i buy a different toilet that has a lower spigot how much fall do i need ? the horizontal pipe with 35mm fall over 350mm long has some play so if i drop the high end a bit and leave say 10mm fall over 350mm is that still ok - is level ok ?

thanks Guys

20mm absolute minimum I would be happy with.

WC pans do vary a lot from make/model and between 50+mm

Hi the scruff

so you are saying should have 20mm fall over the 350mm length .

i think currently center of waste at lowest point at vertical joint is 145mm from floor so mininum spigot height in a toilet i could buy is 165mm to the center ?

one plumbing shop said they have (due to other space sizes) was 180mm to centre of spigot so that should be good ?? give a 35mm fall from spigot - around 90˚ corner joint and then the 350mm waste until vertical ..

thanks

HI

sorry think been calling a Pan Outlet a spigot - got that online somewhere

so basically whats the lowest pan outlet i should be getting considering lowest end of waste before goes into vertical pipe is 145 at centre 350mm away from current toilet - these pipes cannot really move much

thanks

Hi
I have just removed all the wooden built box covering and the current PAN outlet is 8" exactly at centre so 205mm high at centre - but most toilets i can find that will fit are 190-185-170mm

would these be ok amount of fall or is the 170mm pan outlet going to 140-145mm other end of waste not enough ..

thanks again Mark
