Title: bath waste
Post by eamonn247247 on Oct 9th, 2018, 10:58pm

Hi All
Bought a freestanding bath from Victoria Plumb that came with a pre installed pop up waste and overflow.
However i have tried 2 shallow 40 mm bath traps and both are slightly too big for the trap hole. They but up to each other but trap wont slot in upto the rubber seal. What am i missing here as i throught there was only 2 sizes for waste.32 and 40.

Go to Wickes etc with a tape and you should be able to buy one with a smaller spigot, take the one you have to compare them.

An alternative is if you have a smooth edge flat file so you don't damage the seating you can file it down to fit.

Terrain fittings are the biggest culprit

Can I check...

You are removing the pop-up waste that was supplied and replacing it with a combined waste and trap. However the hole in the bath is too small?

What size is the hole in the bath?

Edit: cross posted with the reply by thescruff.

No CW.

There's a small spigot that fit into the waste fitting where the o ring is, on some makes it is too big to fit the hole, you can buy ones that fit or simply file it smaller, but, you need to make sure you don't damage the o ring seat
