Title: BT Versatility: can I select a line for call out?
Post by askthetradesDK on Aug 8th, 2019, 10:09am

Hi
When making an outgoing call via a BT Versatility, I want it to use Line 2 if available.
I'm hopeful that it's possible, but I'm not sure what the feature is called and how to configure it.
Is it the Alternate Routing feature?  AR seems to be aimed at choosing an external provider by using a dialled code, but it may do what I want.
The reason for doing all this is that there's a call package attached to line 2, but not line 1, and as it's for a small charity we're being as mean as possible.
Thanks if you can help  8^)

Obviously the easiest way would be to swap the two lines physically.

You can setup least cost routing with "preferred" line assignment to force it to try line 2 first, and if busy, try line 1.  Don't enter any digits in the code fields, just empty.

You can dial a two digit line access code for individual lines too, think it was 761, 762 etc.

Long time since I have programmed one.  They just get ripped out these days!
