Title: Central heating install question.
Post by simon1985 on Jan 15th, 2020, 7:31pm

Hi

I am renovating a house . It has been rewired and plastered. Second fix is not yet done. Kitchen being installed soon. An old woman had the house before me.It has never had gas so this is to be done also full new central heating.

The question I am asking is what point does the boiler and radiators get installed. As there is only temporary electric in at present the boiler will not be able to be wired up etc but can the plumber run all the pipe work in etc and put the boiler on the wall without electric as it seems silly to put kitchen in when you need to run gas pipes under the floor and water pipes etc. Hope you under stand what I mean. ?

1st fix usually includes everything, pipes cables, etc that are under floors, in walls, ceiling, lofts, etc.

Boiler pipes, gas, water, waste, etc is next before units are fitted, so once the walls are plastered you can get the boiler fitted and piped up, the electric services should also be connected or run into boxes before the tiler gets going.

Think about what goes before or after each operation. example, you have to plaster the wall before you can paint or tile? what do you need in place before you fit the kitchen sink? and so on.
