Title: Painting metal angle bead Post by harveys dad on Jan 24th, 2020, 8:07pm Had a load of plastering done and starting to emulsion with Leyland trade Matt, what should I use on the new the metal beads as the paint is reluctant to cover , cheers |
Title: Re: Painting metal angle bead Post by woodsmith on Jan 25th, 2020, 8:12am That's strange, emulsion paint will normally cover the angle bead without a problem. First I'd try cleaning a small area with a meths soaked cloth to see if they have an oil residue, if that doesn't work then Zinsser BIN is your best option as it covers just about anything. |
Title: Re: Painting metal angle bead Post by harveys dad on Jan 27th, 2020, 3:44pm Thanks I’ll give it a go, just thinking if temperature is a factor , the property currently has no heating and it’s chilly up north |
Title: Re: Painting metal angle bead Post by woodsmith on Jan 28th, 2020, 8:05am I don't think so, normally, if it's very cold, it just takes an age for the paint to dry |
Title: Re: Painting metal angle bead Post by CWatters on Feb 21st, 2020, 6:31pm Aside: Zinsser paints (as mentioned by Woodsmith) are great for bathroom ceilings. After having problems someone recommended them to me and now I probably wouldn't use anything else above a shower. |
