Title: What's this wall coating? Post by Natedog on Jan 22nd, 2022, 11:19am Some of the walls of my workshop have got this very thin coating on them, that sort of looks like render. Any idea what it might be? It was built in 1961 if that helps? [gallery]Natedog/1642850272.jpg[/gallery] [gallery]Natedog/1642850273.jpg[/gallery] |

No, when it’s this rough it’s often been sprayed on. If you search for roughcast you will find a video showing how they do it. Alternatively they apply a render and flick aggregate into the wet surface. |

Post by Natedog on Jan 30th, 2022, 4:34pm ah, i know what you mean. our house is done like that. this stuff on the workshop is actually flat and sort of smooth - it's just hard to photograph with the lichen growing on it I had a play, mixing up some SBR that was in the garage with some grey cement powder. horrible stuff to paint on, and nothing like the same colour, but does give the same sort of finish. hoping that with a couple of coats of paint on the top it should all look the same |
