shower query

hi i was at a customer's today whose shower was malfunctioning Shocked
there was very little water coming thru so i disconnected from pipework and checked for blockages and checked water pressure everything seemed ok Roll Eyes

so tried shower and it workrd ok but when i turned off and then back on same thing happened but if i shut the isolating valve then opened it i had pressure again. Lips Sealed

as this continued to happen my question is  ???

is this as i think a problem with shower so replace shower or is there something plumbing which can explain this ??? ???

some stuff did come out it when i had head of and ran water thru it first couple o times.

can i sort that or am i best to jus replace the shower and if so is there something i can do to prevent it happening to new shower???

You could probably turn it upside down and shack a load out or they can be descaled, although cost wise its easier to just replace it.

You can get scale preventors Look up Scalewatcher on the net.

yeah looked it up pricey bit o kit  Shocked more than the shower Angry

i didnt think we had much o a problem up here in scotland where waters softer ???

I wouldn't fit one on a shower anyway, the showers are so cheap its not worth it.

Other than that I only assumed it was scale, as this is the most common problem.
