Replacement lock cylinders
May 25th, 2004, 8:57pm

I've been asked to change the cylinder on a Yale front door lock. No probs - can buy these in the local DIY sheds.

However, this is a deadlock which has a key on the inside as well as the outside. And I haven't been able to find a replacement cylinder for the inner.

Anyone know whether this arrangement requires the whole lock to be replaced? Seems the most probable option but perhaps someone knows of replacements.

Several different types, but they would come as a matching pair.

Probably cheaper to buy a new lock, although I would ask our local locksmith who has a shop in town.

Alternative is post the lock and I could  rebuild it for you and match the keys.
