New SANDER
Jul 9th, 2004, 1:52pm

My old random orbital sander is so loud and vibrates so much my neighbour thinks I’m breaking up the workshop floor! Angry

TIME FOR A NEW ONE! Cheesy

But which one? ???

Anyone read a review on R/O sanders recently? Wink

With a budget of around £100 can anyone suggest a cracker? Smiley

Thank's Dusty

I thought all Random Orbital sanders were round - anyway;
  • round disc type
    125mm 8 holes (I think most ROS are this type)
    variable speed
    low noise
    low vibration

Dusty,

Have a look here - there are reviews for all sorts of tools, written by people who appear to know their stuff.

http://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/

The Festool appears to be the mut's nuts, but it is out of the price range you specified. (Festool stuff is way out of my price range too!!!!) Cry

The 3 golden rules of engineering&&1) It always breaks when you need it most.&&2) It works better if you plug it in.&&3) If all else fails - read the instructions.

I have the Metabo 150mm, variable speed, dual orbit very solid and works a treat. A bit over your budget but rutlands have a special offer with two bessey K body clamps
