I just don't like circuits feeding socket outlets being mixed with lighting.
People come along and see an FCU and think "Ooh - That's handy, I'll just connect this extra socket on the end."
The FCU could already be feeding a light fitting and may only supplied via 1.00mm or 1.5mm.

Knock off the mcb marked 'lights' in the CU and is THAT light fitting REALLY DEAD?

Keep it simple - Don't mix em!
Stick to lighting circuits for lighting and socket circuits for sockets.

Also, make a point of feeding ANY FCU with at least 2.5mm  - just in case!

Thanks for all the info guys. Am hoping to carry out this project on Sunday. M-I-L will be out all day at other daughters due to fact she has recently been widowed. Hence desire for some form of lighting at front door. Will let you know how I got on.
